Astana to open Teachers’ Training University
Astana, The Gulf Observer: As earlier reported, at the sitting on the Astana development, the Head of State charged to open a Teachers’ Training University to tackle the teacher shortage problems. With this end in view a Teachers’ Training University will open in the city, according to media reports.
12 new schools will open their doors to solve three-shift schooling. Seven of them were commissioned, construction of the rest will conclude this month. 33 schools will be built in 2024, 43 more in 2025-2028. 88 schools for 200,000 seats will be put inro service in 2023-2027, head of the Astana education department Kassymkhan Sengaziyev told the meeting with the participation of the Enlightenment Minister.
He said construction of new schools will solve the problem of eight three-shift schools and 16 overcrowded schools. In 2026-207 the city will necessitate some 5,000 teachers due to the growth in students.
The Teachers’ Training University will unveil at the ground of the college of humanities within the public-private partnership. Besides, a Teachers’ Training Institute will open at the ground of the Gumilev Eurasian National University and a branch of the Abai Kazakh National Teachers’ Training University at the Nazarbayev Intellectual School.
