Erdogan Congratulates Shehbaz Sharif on Reelection as Pakistan’s Prime Minister
Ankara, The Gulf Observer: Türkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to Shehbaz Sharif on his reelection as the Prime Minister of Pakistan, according to a statement released by the Turkish Communications Directorate.
President Erdogan engaged in a telephone conversation with Prime Minister Sharif on Sunday, expressing his confidence that the relations between Türkiye and Pakistan would further deepen and expand during the new term. The leaders discussed various aspects of the strong bilateral ties that exist between the two nations.
The congratulatory call also delved into Türkiye-Pakistan relations, with both leaders affirming their commitment to fostering cooperation and understanding. The conversation extended to encompass regional and global issues of mutual interest, emphasizing the shared responsibility of both countries in contributing to regional stability and global affairs.

Shehbaz Sharif, who secured his second term as Prime Minister earlier in the day through the democratic process following the February 8 general elections, received warm wishes from President Erdogan for a successful and prosperous tenure. President Erdogan acknowledged Premier Sharif’s leadership, particularly highlighting his previous role in heading a coalition government after the removal of former Prime Minister Imran Khan in 2022.
The National Assembly of Pakistan, dissolved last August, has once again chosen Shehbaz Sharif to lead the nation, marking a significant development in the democratic process of the country.
