Uzbekistan Ranks 47th in World Happiness Report 2024

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Uzbekistan has secured the 47th position in the esteemed World Happiness Report 2024, meticulously calculated by the renowned international organization GALLUP across 143 countries worldwide.
Emerging as a frontrunner among Central Asian nations, Uzbekistan clinched the coveted first place in the region. Following closely behind, Kazakhstan attained the 49th position, trailed by Kyrgyzstan at 75th place, and Tajikistan at 88th place. Notably, Turkmenistan’s absence from the ranking is noteworthy.
Uzbekistan’s notable ascent is further highlighted by its remarkable progression, securing the 19th spot among countries experiencing significant improvements in happiness levels from 2021 to 2023 compared to the period from 2006 to 2010.
Moreover, Uzbekistan’s commendable performance extends to the happiness of its senior citizens, as the nation clinched the 22nd position in the global ranking for citizens aged over 60 years. This achievement surpasses countries such as the Czech Republic, France, Singapore, and Japan, among others.
The World Happiness Index, a comprehensive metric derived from population surveys conducted over the past three years, plays a pivotal role in evaluating the subjective well-being of nations. Respondents contribute to the assessment by envisioning hypothetical life opportunities on a scale ranging from 0 (representing the worst scenario) to 10 (representing the best scenario) and rating their current standard of living accordingly.
While the index primarily relies on these surveys, additional data on various socio-economic factors including GDP, life expectancy, generosity, social support, freedom, and corruption are collected for supplementary insights. Although these factors do not directly influence the index calculation, they offer valuable context to understand the happiness dynamics within each nation.
Uzbekistan’s remarkable performance in the World Happiness Report underscores its ongoing commitment to fostering well-being and prosperity among its populace, further solidifying its position on the global stage.
