Saudi Arabia Urges Citizens to Leave Lebanon Amid Escalating Tensions
Beirut, The Gulf Observer: The Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Lebanon has announced that it is closely monitoring the current developments in southern Lebanon, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency on Saturday.
The embassy reiterated its previous advisory, urging all Saudi citizens to avoid travel to Lebanon and strongly advised those already in the country to leave immediately. The embassy emphasized that Saudi citizens should contact it for assistance in case of any emergencies.
This urgent warning comes as Iran issued a statement on Saturday, cautioning that “all Resistance Fronts,” a coalition of Iran and its regional allies, would respond to any Israeli attacks on Lebanon. The warning from Iran’s mission to New York has heightened fears of a broader regional conflict involving Israel and Lebanon’s Iran-backed Hezbollah movement.
The situation has seen near-daily exchanges of fire between the two sides since the onset of the war in Gaza, raising concerns about the potential for an escalating conflict in the region.
