UAE Delegation Led by H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Arrives in Astana
Astana, The Gulf Observer: On behalf of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, arrived in Astana, Kazakhstan, on Wednesday to lead the UAE delegation at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit.
The two-day summit, themed “Strengthening Multilateral Dialogue – The Pursuit of Sustainable Peace and Development,” is being hosted by Kazakhstan from July 3 to 4. The event gathers heads of state and government of member states, as well as representatives from regional and international organizations.
The UAE’s participation in the summit follows its official recognition as a “Dialogue Partner” in the SCO during last year’s meetings in India. This new status underscores the UAE’s commitment to fostering international cooperation and dialogue.
H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure; Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy; Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State; and several other officials.
Upon arrival at Astana International Airport, H.H. Sheikh Saud and his delegation were warmly received by Zhaslan Madiyev, Kazakh Minister of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry; Mohamed Saeed Alariqi, UAE Ambassador to Kazakhstan; and other government officials.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, established on June 15, 2001, as a permanent intergovernmental international organization, aims to enhance mutual trust, friendship, and good-neighborliness among member states. It also seeks to encourage effective cooperation in politics, trade, economy, science and technology, culture, education, energy, transport, tourism, environmental protection, and to jointly ensure and maintain peace, security, and stability in the region.
The UAE’s participation in the SCO Summit signifies its dedication to engaging in multilateral dialogue and contributing to sustainable peace and development in the region.
