Oman’s Nizwa University has been able to treat a deadly fungus
Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The University of Nizwa, in cooperation with a number of international medical research centres, has been able to come up with a treatment that eliminates the deadly fungus “Candida auris.”
The University of Nizwa, in cooperation with a number of universities and international medical research centres, has reached a treatment for the newly tested antifungal formula, which was able to eliminate the deadly fungus “Candida auris” that works to resist many of the currently available drugs.
Dr. Abdullah bin MuhammadAl-Hatmi, assistant professor at the Natural and Medical Research Centre and the person in charge of the Microbiology Laboratory at the University of Nizwa, explained to ONA that the study evaluated the activity of two new antifungal treatments in laboratories for new drugs.
They are nikkomycin (nik Z) and diphenyl diselenide (PhSe) against the all-antibiotic-resistant fungus Candida auris.
