Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: Today, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, warmly received the esteemed UAE astronauts, Dr. Sultan Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth, and Hazzaa AlMansoori, along with the accomplished team of the “Zayed Ambition 2” mission from the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC). The MBRSC team was led by Salem Humaid AlMarri, Director-General of the Centre.
During the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah expressed his admiration for the pioneering achievements of the astronauts and the entire MBRSC team, acknowledging their substantial contributions to advancing scientific innovation and technological progress within the UAE.
He commended the alignment of these accomplishments with the visionary development and progress goals set by the UAE’s leadership, led by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai.
Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the strategic leadership demonstrated by the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre, emphasizing the invaluable experiences gained from astronauts’ missions to the International Space Station (ISS). He underscored the role of space exploration in inspiring future generations of scientists and researchers, aligning with the UAE’s commitment to fostering innovation and knowledge.
In a symbolic gesture marking the success of the “Zayed Ambition 2” mission and the UAE’s dedication to space exploration, the team presented Sheikh Abdullah with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs logo carried by Dr. Al Neyadi during his historic mission – the longest Arab space mission to the ISS.
Expressing gratitude for the warm reception and Sheikh Abdullah’s unwavering support, MBRSC Director-General AlMarri stated that the meeting “serves as inspiration for the team to further elevate their efforts and foster excellence and innovation in space science.”
