Abdullah bin Zayed Meets with Syrian Foreign Minister
Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), hosted Dr. Faisal Mekdad, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic, in Abu Dhabi yesterday. The meeting, held during a working dinner, underscored the UAE’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Syria across various sectors to serve the mutual interests of both nations.
Sheikh Abdullah warmly welcomed Dr. Mekdad’s visit, highlighting the historical and fraternal ties between the UAE and Syria. Discussions centered on enhancing cooperation in development and other key areas aimed at promoting prosperity and stability.
The UAE Foreign Minister expressed his best wishes for Syria’s security, stability, and continued progress. Both ministers exchanged perspectives on regional and international developments, with a particular focus on the Middle East. They emphasized the importance of collective Arab efforts in fostering sustainable stability and addressing the developmental needs of the region’s populations.
The meeting was attended by Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State, and Hassan Ahmed Al Shehhi, UAE Ambassador to Syria, underscoring the significance of the discussions held and the ongoing dialogue between the two countries.
