Algeria and Tunisia Expand Cooperation in Telecommunications and Digital Technologies

Tunis, The Gulf Observer: Algeria and Tunisia have agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of postal services, telecommunications and information and communication technologies (ICTs) following the fourth session of the Algerian–Tunisian Joint Technical Commission on communications and ICT cooperation.
According to a statement issued by Algeria’s Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, Algerian Minister of Posts and Telecommunications Sid Ali Zerrougui led a sectoral delegation to Tunisia to participate in the commission’s meeting aimed at advancing collaboration between the two neighboring countries.
The session brought together senior officials and experts from both sides to review ongoing cooperation and explore new opportunities for partnership across a range of strategic sectors, including telecommunications infrastructure, spectrum management, postal services, entrepreneurship and digital innovation.
During the discussions, the two sides assessed progress achieved under existing cooperation frameworks and exchanged views on ways to further enhance connectivity and accelerate digital transformation efforts in both countries.
The meeting concluded with agreements on a number of joint projects and initiatives designed to modernize postal and telecommunications systems, improve service quality, strengthen digital infrastructure and support the development of innovation ecosystems.
Officials emphasized that the initiatives would contribute to boosting regional connectivity, encouraging technological innovation and creating new opportunities for cooperation in the digital economy.
The latest session of the Joint Technical Commission reflects the strong and longstanding partnership between Algeria and Tunisia and their shared commitment to expanding cooperation in communication technologies and digital development for mutual benefit.
