Algeria’s Embassy in Islamabad Commemorates National Day of the Mujahid

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: The Embassy of Algeria in Islamabad commemorated the National Day of the Mujahid on Thursday, marking the dual anniversary of the North Constantine Offensive of August 20, 1955, and the convening of the Congress of Soummam on August 20, 1956.
The commemorative ceremony included a sit-in held in tribute to Algeria’s martyrs. The national flag was raised, Al-Fatiha was recited, and a minute of silence was observed in remembrance of the souls of those who sacrificed their lives for the country.
Addressing the gathering, the Chargé d’Affaires recalled the profound historical significance of the two events, noting their decisive role in igniting and organizing Algeria’s revolution and shaping the country’s struggle for independence.
The Chargé d’Affaires called on the young men and women of the Algerian community in Pakistan to follow the example of their ancestors, whose sacrifices, dedication and selflessness constituted a lasting legacy for future generations.
He further urged the younger generation to take pride in Algeria’s rich and glorious history and to contribute wholeheartedly to the country’s national development, with the objective of strengthening Algeria’s standing and raising its national flag high among the nations.
