Ahmadbayli–Fuzuli–Shusha Highway Wins IRF Global Award for Innovative Construction

Baku, The Gulf Observer: The Ahmadbayli–Fuzuli–Shusha highway project has been selected as the winner in the Innovative Construction Methodology category of the Europe and Central Asia Regional Excellence Awards by the International Road Federation (IRF Global).

The project, submitted for consideration in the regional awards, was recognized for its innovative approach to road construction and engineering.

The Ahmadbayli–Fuzuli–Shusha highway is classified as a 1C technical-category road and features four to six traffic lanes. The major infrastructure project includes seven tunnels, nine viaducts, 11 bridges and 76 underpasses and reserve crossings.

The combined length of the tunnels exceeds 6.3 kilometers, with the longest tunnel extending approximately 3.34 kilometers.

The recognition by IRF Global highlights the technical and engineering achievements demonstrated in the construction of the highway and underscores its significance as a major transport infrastructure project in Azerbaijan.
