Ambassador Javlon Vakhabov and His Delegation Visit Pakistan

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: On 9th February 2025, His Excellency Ambassador Javlon Vakhabov, Managing Director, The International Institute for Central Asia, Tashkent, Uzbekistan along with his delegation visited Pakistan and met with Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director of the Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF) in Islamabad. Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram warmly welcomed His Excellency Ambassador Javlon Vakhabov and his delegation, which included Mr. Kadambay Sultanov, Chief Research Fellow, and Mr. Alouddin Komilov, Lead Research Fellow from the International Institute for Central Asia. The event was attended by the diplomats from the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan at Islamabad including Mr. Ravshan Jumanov, Mr. Oybek Kambarov and Colonel LutafUllah.
During the meeting, H.E. Ambassador Javlon Vakhabov expressed appreciation for Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram’s efforts in strengthening relations between Uzbekistan and Pakistan and boosting regional connectivity between Central Asia and South Asia. The discussion highlighted the importance of bilateral cooperation in academic, research, cultural, and trade sectors, recognizing these collaborations as key components in fortifying the relationship between the Republic of Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
Furthermore, the Ambassador acknowledged and commended Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram for his significant contributions to enhancing academic research linkages and fostering people-to-people contacts between Uzbekistan and Pakistan. Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram also hosted a lunch for the delegation at his residence in Islamabad.
The meeting was also attended by notable figures, including Ms. Riffat Inam Butt, CEO of The Legal & Management Consultants, Islamabad, Prof. Dr. Amna Mahmood, Vice President of the International Islamic University in Islamabad, Prof. Dr. Zafar Nawaz Jaspal, Dean of Social Sciences at Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, Mr. Arslan Javed, Director, Graana Group, Islamabad and Mr. Muzammil, Regional Head, Bank Makramah Limited (BML), Islamabad.
At this occasion, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also signed between The International Institute for Central Asia, Tashkent, Uzbekistan and PRCCSF, Islamabad. Both institutes agreed to work together for enhancing Regional Connectivity through Central-South Asia Corridor.
