Azerbaijan and TURKSOY Strengthen Cultural Cooperation

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Adil Karimli, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Culture, met with Sultan Raev, the Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), to discuss enhancing cultural cooperation and upcoming initiatives. According to reports from media, the meeting highlighted the growing collaboration between Azerbaijan and TURKSOY, with both sides emphasizing the importance of their relationship.

Minister Karimli noted the continuous development of Azerbaijan-TURKSOY cooperation and the significance of their successful joint projects over the years. The discussion also focused on plans for 2025, including the hosting of the Second Cultural Forum of the Turkic World, an event expected to further promote cultural unity among the Turkic nations.

The meeting also celebrated the success of the first Cultural Forum held in Shusha in October 2023, which underscored Azerbaijan’s role as the “Cultural Capital of the Turkic World.” Both sides acknowledged the forum’s success in fostering cultural ties and enhancing the relationship among Turkic countries.

Additionally, the meeting explored opportunities for greater collaboration in cinematography, including the production of joint animated films, and discussed the potential inclusion of the Republic of Mongolia as an observer member of TURKSOY.

This meeting marks another step in deepening Azerbaijan’s cultural diplomacy and strengthening ties within the Turkic world.
