Azerbaijan Elected Chairman of CICA Council of Foreign Ministers for 2024-2026

Baku, The Gulf Observer: The Republic of Azerbaijan has been elected as the Chairman of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) for the term 2024-2026, following a recommendation made at a meeting of the Committee of High-ranking People of the CICA on March 14. The decision was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to media reports.

Under the leadership of Azerbaijan, the country is poised to play a pivotal role in advancing cooperation and dialogue within the CICA framework. As part of its chairmanship responsibilities, Azerbaijan is set to host the CICA Council of Foreign Affairs Ministers in 2024, followed by the CICA Council of Heads of State and Government (Summit) in 2026.

This election underscores Azerbaijan’s growing stature and influence within the international community and reflects the confidence placed in the country’s leadership to guide CICA through the next phase of its development.
