Azerbaijan Learning to Live in Peace After Decades of Conflict: President Ilham Aliyev

Baku, The Gulf Observer: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has said that his country is still in the early stages of adapting to peace after decades of conflict, noting that Azerbaijan has “lived in peace for only nine months and is learning to live in peace.”
In his address delivered via video link at the 8th European Political Community Summit, President Aliyev recalled that the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan signed a joint declaration in August last year at the White House in Washington, marking a significant step toward normalization.
He emphasized that following the achievement of peace, Azerbaijan unilaterally lifted all transit restrictions that had been imposed on Armenia since the early 1990s.
President Aliyev underlined that these measures reflect Azerbaijan’s commitment to stability and long-term peace in the region, while acknowledging that the process of rebuilding trust and normal relations remains ongoing.
