Azerbaijani Environmental Coalition to Unveil Digital Map Highlighting Armenia’s Mining Pollution

Baku, The Gulf Observer: The “Environmental Protection First” (EPF) Coalition, an alliance of Azerbaijani non-governmental organizations advocating against Armenia’s environmentally harmful mining practices, is set to launch a digital map identifying major polluters, complete with photo and video documentation.

Mugabil Bayramov, Chairman of the “Azerbaijani Cartographers” Public Union, stated that the development of the digital map has been underway for over a year, aiming to expose environmental violations in the region.

“We reiterate that Armenia, which disregards all environmental norms and standards, has no right to contaminate the entire region,” Bayramov emphasized.

The coalition continues to demand that Armenia facilitate access for Azerbaijani NGOs and international organizations to conduct environmental monitoring at its mining enterprises. Bayramov also criticized Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan for ignoring repeated inquiries on the issue.

“As civil society organizations, we have sent an open letter to Armenia regarding this matter,” he added, underscoring the coalition’s commitment to holding Armenia accountable for alleged environmental damage.
