Belarusian President Lukashenko to Meet Russian President Putin and Visit China
Minsk, The Gulf Observer: Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has announced an upcoming meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and a visit to China as part of his ongoing efforts to strengthen international ties and expand Belarus’s economic opportunities.
Lukashenko shared the news during a meeting on the development of mechanical engineering in Belarus, emphasizing the significance of the discussions with President Putin, which are set to take place in the coming days. “We will discuss all the issues that need to be discussed at our level,” Lukashenko remarked, underlining the close cooperation between Belarus and Russia.
The two leaders are expected to focus on further synchronization of their cooperation in the automotive industry and other sectors, with Lukashenko stressing the importance of adhering to agreements with the Russian Federation. He also touched on the topic of the recycling fee, inquiring about its implementation and any potential issues with Russia.
Looking ahead to the challenges of the coming year, Lukashenko highlighted the need to deepen Belarus’s presence in traditional markets and diversify its export destinations. “These visits to Oman, the Emirates, as well as an upcoming visit to China, are part of our strategy to diversify our markets. The distant arc countries are our third export destination,” he stated.
Additionally, Lukashenko mentioned that a summit of the Eurasian Economic Union and an informal meeting of CIS leaders are scheduled to take place in St. Petersburg at the end of December, suggesting that his upcoming meeting with President Putin may coincide with these high-level gatherings.
