Chinese and Ukrainian Vice FMs Discuss Ukraine Crisis and Bilateral Relations

Beijing, The Gulf Observer: Chinese and Ukrainian vice foreign ministers exchanged views on the Ukraine crisis and other international and regional issues of common concern, the Chinese Foreign Ministry announced on Wednesday.

During a bilateral consultation in Beijing, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong and Ukraine’s First Deputy Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha engaged in comprehensive discussions between the ministries of foreign affairs of both nations.

Sun emphasized that over the past 32 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties, China-Ukraine relations have developed steadily. He reiterated China’s willingness to work with Ukraine to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, maintaining a tradition of mutual respect and sincere treatment. Sun highlighted the need to focus on the fundamental and long-term interests of both peoples, promoting bilateral exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and safeguarding and developing good relations between China and Ukraine.

Sybiha expressed Ukraine’s appreciation for the traditional friendship with China and reaffirmed Ukraine’s adherence to the one-China principle. He voiced a commitment to further deepen contacts between the two countries at all levels, strengthen cooperation in various sectors, and promote the development of bilateral relations to achieve more substantial results.

This consultation underscores the ongoing efforts by both China and Ukraine to address the Ukraine crisis while enhancing their diplomatic and cooperative ties across multiple domains.
