UAE President, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy Discuss Bilateral Cooperation and Ukraine Crisis

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received a telephone call from President of Ukraine His Excellency Volodymyr Zelenskyy, during which the two leaders discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation and reviewed the latest developments related to the Ukraine crisis.

The discussions focused on expanding collaboration across various sectors in line with the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the United Arab Emirates and Ukraine, reaffirming the two countries’ shared commitment to advancing mutual interests and deepening economic ties.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and President Zelenskyy also exchanged views on the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and its humanitarian implications, emphasizing the importance of continued international efforts to alleviate the suffering caused by the crisis.

President Zelenskyy expressed his appreciation for the UAE’s sustained diplomatic initiatives to facilitate prisoner exchanges between the Russian Federation and Ukraine. He also commended the UAE’s consistent commitment to addressing the humanitarian dimensions of the conflict through dialogue and mediation.

In addition to bilateral cooperation and the Ukraine crisis, the two leaders reviewed a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern. They underscored the importance of intensifying collective efforts to promote regional and global peace, security, and stability, while supporting sustainable development and the wellbeing of people around the world.

The telephone conversation reflects the growing partnership between the UAE and Ukraine and highlights the UAE’s continued role in advancing humanitarian diplomacy and fostering constructive dialogue to support international peace and stability.
