Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Cuban Ambassador to Pakistan Damián Cordero attended the premiere of the Vietnamese film Peach Blossom, Pho and Piano during the second edition of the Francophone Film Schedule in Islamabad, at the invitation of the Embassy of Vietnam.

The film portrays the heroic resistance of the Vietnamese people in Hanoi during the French invasion of 1946, highlighting their determination and sacrifice in defending their homeland against foreign occupation.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Cordero praised the film’s depiction of courage and resilience, noting that history has repeatedly demonstrated that no invading force can defeat a people united in the defense of their nation.

The screening formed part of cultural activities aimed at promoting dialogue and mutual understanding among participating countries through cinema and artistic expression. The event brought together diplomats, cultural representatives and film enthusiasts to celebrate the rich historical and cultural narratives of the Francophone world.
