Exit Polls Show Adilet Party Leading Kazakhstan’s First Qurultay Elections

Astana, The Gulf Observer: Preliminary exit poll results from Kazakhstan’s first elections to the country’s new unicameral Qurultay show the Adilet party securing a commanding lead, with three separate surveys placing its support between 70.7 and 72.3 percent.

According to the Institute of Eurasian Integration, Adilet received 71.8 percent of the vote, followed by Auyl with 6.4 percent, Respublica with 5.4 percent, the Nationwide Social Democratic Party (OSDP) with 5.2 percent and Ak Zhol with 5.1 percent. The People’s Party of Kazakhstan received 3 percent, while the Baytaq Green Party secured 1 percent.

The Institute for Comprehensive Social Research Socis-A put Adilet’s support at 70.7 percent, with Auyl on 6.4 percent, Respublica on 5.5 percent, Ak Zhol on 5.4 percent and OSDP on 5 percent. The People’s Party of Kazakhstan received 3.2 percent and Baytaq 1.2 percent.

Meanwhile, the Institute of Public Policy estimated Adilet’s support at 72.3 percent, followed by Auyl at 6.2 percent, Respublica at 5.2 percent, Ak Zhol at 5.1 percent and OSDP at 5 percent. The People’s Party of Kazakhstan received 2.8 percent, while Baytaq secured 0.9 percent.

Under Kazakhstan’s electoral regulations, political parties must secure at least 5 percent of the vote to enter the Qurultay. Based on the three exit polls, five parties — Adilet, Auyl, Respublica, Ak Zhol and OSDP — meet or exceed the required threshold.

The share of voters choosing the “Against all” option ranged from 2.1 to 2.6 percent across the three surveys.

The exit poll figures remain preliminary and do not represent the official election results. Kazakhstan’s Central Election Commission is expected to announce the final results after the completion of the vote count.

The elections mark the first vote for Kazakhstan’s newly established unicameral Qurultay, following constitutional reforms that replaced the country’s previous bicameral parliamentary system.
