Al Khor unit catches fishermen illegally hunting Salal birds

Doha, The Gulf Observer: The Maritime Protection Department, represented by the Al-Khor Unit, caught fishermen illegally hunting a number of Salal birds and hid them in a fishing ship for selling. The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) said in a statement that this is a clear violation of the hunting law.

The ship was stopped at the entrance to Al Khor, and a violation report was issued.

Inspectors of the Ministry also freed the captured Salal birds and gave necessary care as well as supervised their release to nature.

The Ministry called on everyone to abide by the laws and preserve the biodiversity and ecological balance of the environment.
