H.E. Munsoo Kurrimbaccus Visits Taxila, Hails Timeless Legacy of Gandhara Civilization

Taxila, The Gulf Observer: High Commissioner of Mauritius to Pakistan, H.E. Munsoo Kurrimbaccus, undertook an official visit to Taxila, the UNESCO World Heritage Site, describing the tour as a remarkable journey into the depths of history.
During the visit, the High Commissioner toured the ancient ruins and viewed the site’s celebrated sculptures and artefacts, noting that the legacy of the Gandhara Civilisation had been preserved with extraordinary care. The site, he observed, allows visitors to walk through places where cultures, ideas, art, faith and knowledge once met and flourished.
“Taxila is not simply an archaeological site. It is a living reminder of a great civilisation that connected the ancient world and left deep cultural influence on the history of South Asia,” Mr. Kurrimbaccus remarked.
The High Commissioner announced that the visit would continue over the next two days, during which the journey would be shared with a wider audience — from the ancient ruins and magnificent sculptures to the stories, traditions and human spirit that shaped Gandhara.
Extending an invitation to travel together through the centuries and rediscover the timeless legacy of Taxila, he underlined the enduring significance of Pakistan’s cultural heritage and its appeal to visitors from around the world.
