ASEAN Day Celebrated in Islamabad, Underscoring Pakistan–ASEAN Cultural Ties

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: On August 20, 2026 ASEAN Day was celebrated at an event marked by a blend of culture and diplomacy, attended by Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, Mr. Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, and Advisor to the Federal Minister, Syed Usman Tahir.
Executive Director of Lok Virsa, Dr. Waqas Saleem, was also present on the occasion.
The evening was dedicated to heritage and cultural exchange, celebrating the deepening friendship between Pakistan and the ASEAN family of nations. Participants highlighted the role of shared cultural traditions in bringing peoples closer together.
Speaking of the significance of the occasion, it was observed that culture remains one of the warmest bridges between nations — a means of building understanding and goodwill that endures beyond formal diplomacy.
