International Conference for Floral Artists Blossoms at the National Museum of Oman
Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The National Museum of Oman inaugurated a four-day-long International Conference for Floral Artists in collaboration with the World Association for Floral Artists (WAFA). The event, which commenced on Sunday, has drawn participants from over 18 countries, featuring accomplished artists and enthusiasts in the intricate art of floral arrangement.
The primary objectives of the conference include the promotion of floral arrangement as an art form, facilitating the exchange of ideas related to the craft, conservation of natural and environmental resources, and fostering stronger connections among WAFA members globally.
Officials emphasized that the conference will serve as a platform for participants to showcase their skills and creativity in flower arrangement through various events, lectures, and workshops scheduled over the four days. Additionally, guided tours and an introduction to the National Museum are organized to enhance the overall experience for attendees.
One of the highlights of the conference is an international competition where participating members can demonstrate their proficiency in floral artistry. Renowned floral artists, including Madhu Shah from Australia, Kitty Gallanghar from Ireland, and Poornima Subramanian representing the Sultanate of Oman, will deliver live presentations on arranging and shaping artistic displays using diverse flowers.
The World Association for Floral Artists (WAFA), founded in 1981, is a non-profit, non-partisan organization comprising international floral art societies. WAFA’s mission transcends international cultural barriers, fostering collaboration and innovation in the diverse field of floral art. The conference at the National Museum of Oman aligns with WAFA’s commitment to advancing the art of floral arrangement and encouraging global cooperation in this expressive form.
