Iranian and German Foreign Ministers Hold Talks on Bilateral Relations

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi held a telephone conversation on Monday with his German counterpart, Johann Wadephul, during which the two diplomats discussed bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest.
Minister Araqchi expressed hope for enhanced cooperation between Iran and Germany, referencing recent understandings reached between the two sides and affirming Iran’s readiness to take practical and effective steps toward improving ties.
The Iranian Foreign Minister also underscored the importance of the ongoing diplomatic efforts between Iran and the United States regarding the removal of sanctions and nuclear-related matters. He highlighted the constructive and potentially influential role that European countries, particularly Germany, could play in advancing these discussions.
Araqchi reiterated Iran’s commitment to continuing dialogue with the three European countries (E3) — Germany, France, and the United Kingdom — as well as with the European Union, within the framework of existing diplomatic mechanisms.
For his part, Foreign Minister Wadephul reaffirmed Germany’s willingness to pursue both bilateral and multilateral discussions with Iran and expressed support for additional confidence-building measures to foster mutual understanding.
The two ministers also agreed to initiate structured political consultations between their respective foreign ministries to address outstanding issues and further strengthen diplomatic engagement.
