Iranian Foreign Minister Set to Visit Saudi Arabia Amid Regional Tensions
Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is scheduled to visit Saudi Arabia to discuss strategies aimed at halting what Iran describes as genocidal acts committed by the Israeli regime in the region. This visit, confirmed by Esmaeil Baghaei, the spokesman for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, aims to facilitate consultations and coordination between officials from both countries to address these urgent issues.
In a post on his X account, Baghaei emphasized that the talks will focus on diplomatic consultations and coordination efforts among regional countries to compel the Israeli regime to cease its actions. He noted, “The Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to strengthen relations with its neighbors to guarantee security and stability and develop economic cooperation.”
The announcement follows Araghchi’s recent participation in the Al Aqsa Storm conference, where he reiterated Iran’s ongoing consultations regarding regional developments. Following his attendance at the annual United Nations General Assembly in New York, Araghchi is also expected to visit Lebanon and Syria after his discussions in Saudi Arabia.
Highlighting Iran’s commitment to regional resistance, Araghchi affirmed that while Tehran is not afraid of conflict, it does not seek to escalate tensions. “Iran is ready for [dealing with] any scenarios,” he stated, reflecting the country’s stance on its role in the region amid heightened geopolitical tensions.
The visit underscores Iran’s intention to collaborate closely with its neighbors in addressing security concerns and promoting regional stability.
