Jordan’s King Abdullah II Receives French Parliamentary Delegation

Amman, The Gulf Observer: His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan received a delegation from the French Parliament, including members of the French-Jordanian Friendship Committee, at Al Husseiniya Palace on Tuesday.

The meeting, attended by Crown Prince Hussein, focused on the longstanding relations between Jordan and France and ways to further strengthen cooperation across various fields, particularly in the political and parliamentary spheres, according to a statement from the Royal Court.

King Abdullah commended France for hosting the latest round of the Aqaba Process meetings, scheduled to take place later this week, which will focus on exploring ways to support the Lebanese Armed Forces.

The King also underscored Jordan’s commitment to continued political coordination and consultation with France on issues of mutual interest.

The meeting addressed recent regional developments and emphasized the need for intensified international efforts to achieve comprehensive and sustainable de-escalation, with the aim of promoting security and stability across the region.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh, President of the French-Jordanian Friendship Association Ibrahim Tarawneh, and France’s Ambassador to Jordan Franck Gellet.
