Astana, The Gulf Observer: On November 10, Akan Rakhmetullin, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, met with Biljana Milosevic, Head of the Regional Delegation for Central Asia at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The meeting, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, underscored Kazakhstan’s ongoing support for humanitarian missions and its commitment to international humanitarian law.

Milosevic expressed her gratitude to Kazakhstan for its continuous assistance in facilitating the ICRC’s operations, particularly highlighting the country’s efforts to repatriate citizens from conflict zones such as Syria and Iraq. She praised Kazakhstan’s active role in supporting the global humanitarian agenda.

In response, Rakhmetullin emphasized the vital work of the ICRC and reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s dedication to upholding the principles of the Geneva Conventions, marking its 75th anniversary this year. He also reiterated Kazakhstan’s ongoing collaboration with the International Red Cross and the Red Crescent Movement.
