The third-seeded duo secured their place in the next round after defeating Poland’s Katarzyna Piter and Fanny Stollar of Hungary in straight sets, winning 6-3, 6-4. The match lasted 1 hour and 14 minutes.
This marks the first tournament for Danilina and Khromacheva as a team since competing at the U.S. Open. Danilina, currently ranked 40th in the WTA Doubles Rankings, holds the highest ranking among Kazakhstani tennis players.
The Guadalajara Open Akron, with a prize fund of $922,573, runs from September 9 to 15, 2024, at the Panamerican Tennis Center in Zapopan, Guadalajara. The tournament, now classified as a WTA 500 event, offers the winners $47,390 in prize money and 500 ranking points.
