Kenya’s Shujaa and Lionesses Qualify for Sevens Series Division II

Los Angeles, The Gulf Observer: Kenya’s national rugby sevens teams, Shujaa and the Lionesses, have secured spots in the Sevens Series Division II after big wins in Los Angeles.
Shujaa beat Canada 24-5 in the men’s playoff final. Anthony Mboya scored two early tries, while Vincent Onyala added two more to seal the victory.
The Lionesses defeated South Africa 17-14 in a close women’s final. Freshia Adhiambo led the team to victory, helping Kenya return to international competition.
Both teams will now play in Division II of the new World Rugby Sevens format, which includes three events. This gives Kenya a chance to fight for promotion to the top tier.
Captain Grace Okulu of the Lionesses said, “This is just the beginning. We are ready for the next level.”
Kenya’s rugby teams are now back on the path to global success.
