King Abdullah II, UK PM Andy Burnham Discuss Bilateral Ties and Regional Stability
Amman, The Gulf Observer: His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan on Saturday received a telephone call from United Kingdom Prime Minister Andy Burnham, during which the two leaders reviewed the longstanding partnership between Jordan and the United Kingdom and exchanged views on the latest developments in the Middle East.
According to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), the conversation focused on the deep-rooted bilateral relations between the two countries, with both leaders reaffirming the importance of continued cooperation and dialogue on issues of mutual interest.
King Abdullah II stressed the urgent need for intensified international efforts to restore stability across the region amid ongoing tensions. He reaffirmed Jordan’s unwavering commitment to taking all necessary measures to safeguard the Kingdom’s security, sovereignty, and the safety of its citizens.
The Jordanian monarch also underscored the necessity of ending Israel’s dangerous escalations against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, warning that continued violence threatens regional peace and stability.
Jordan has consistently advocated for diplomatic solutions to regional conflicts while supporting international efforts aimed at de-escalation, humanitarian relief, and the pursuit of a just and lasting peace based on international law.
