Malaysia and Pakistan Explore Deeper Bilateral Cooperation in Parliamentary, Trade, and Tourism Sectors

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: The Deputy Head of Mission of Malaysia, Mr. Mohd Syafik Firdaus, paid a courtesy call on Senator Faisal Saleem Rehman, Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Interior and Narcotics Control, during a meeting held at the Chairman’s Chamber in Islamabad.

The engagement served as a constructive platform to explore avenues for enhancing bilateral cooperation between Malaysia and Pakistan, with a particular focus on parliamentary collaboration, education, trade, and tourism development.

Also present at the meeting was Mr. Abbas Saleem, President of the Mardan Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Mr. Saleem engaged in dialogue with Mr. Mohd Syafik regarding the expansion of business and trade relations between both countries. Discussions included potential partnerships between local chambers of commerce and Malaysian enterprises, aimed at exploring mutually beneficial opportunities across diverse economic sectors.

During the meeting, Mr. Mohd Syafik underscored his ongoing efforts to strengthen Malaysia-Pakistan ties at the regional level. He noted his recent visits to Charsadda, Gujranwala, and Peshawar, expressing his commitment to continued engagement by confirming plans to visit Mardan in the near future to promote further cooperation.

The meeting reflected the shared determination of both sides to advance bilateral relations through sustained dialogue, institutional collaboration, and people-centric initiatives that support economic growth and cultural understanding.
