Upon arrival at the collapsed Hotel Aungban, the Senior General closely observed the search and rescue operations underway. He provided key guidance to rescue teams, inquired into their immediate needs, and instructed the responsible officials to address them promptly. The Senior General also inspected the Sasana Hitakari Nunnery within the Aungchantha Buddhism Learning Centre compound, which suffered structural damage due to the quake.
Later in the day, the Senior General proceeded to Kalaw, where he visited the Kalaw railway station. There, he received detailed briefings from the Kalaw District Natural Disaster Management Committee on the expansion and dredging operations of the Kalaw Creek. Emphasizing environmental responsibility and sustainable development, the Senior General underscored the importance of maintaining an unblocked water flow in Kalaw Creek. He urged officials to raise public awareness against littering in the creek and to enforce penalties for violations. The Senior General called for coordinated efforts from local residents and administrative bodies to contribute to the region’s beautification and social development.
During his inspection, he reviewed the creek expansion, silt dredging activities, and landscaping progress. He reiterated that the Kalaw railway station must be well-organized and enclosed with a proper fence.
