Mohammed bin Rashid Launches Government Scholarships to Build Next-Generation UAE Leadership in AI and Policy
Dubai, The Gulf Observer: Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has launched the Mohammed bin Rashid Government Scholarships, introducing a new pathway to develop specialised government leaders aligned with national priorities in economic, technological, and policymaking sectors.
The launch took place in the presence of Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and marks a strategic step toward enhancing the capabilities of Emirati talent within government institutions. Sheikh Mohammed also met with members of the first cohort, comprising a select group of professionals from various government entities.
Addressing participants, Sheikh Mohammed underscored the importance of adaptive governance and continuous learning, stating that development breakthroughs are driven by governments capable of transforming knowledge into effective decisions and tangible results.
The scholarship programmes offer advanced academic training in key disciplines, including international business and policy, applied artificial intelligence, and economics, as well as executive-level studies in AI for business.
Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi described the initiative as a shift toward specialised talent development, moving beyond general training to programmes closely aligned with government priorities. He noted that the initiative is designed to strengthen participants’ analytical skills and their ability to translate knowledge into impactful policymaking.
The programmes are being delivered in collaboration with leading global institutions, including Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, New York University Abu Dhabi, Georgetown University, and University of Oxford.
The curriculum focuses on equipping participants with advanced analytical capabilities, insights into global economic trends, and practical applications of artificial intelligence to support government decision-making.
Officials said the initiative reflects a broader strategy to align education with national development needs, invest in local talent, and enhance government performance through knowledge-driven approaches.
The Mohammed bin Rashid Government Scholarships are expected to play a key role in strengthening the UAE’s long-term competitiveness by linking advanced education with practical governance outcomes.
