Rabat, The Gulf Observer: In a significant step toward strengthening Morocco’s digital transformation, the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation signed a partnership agreement with Huawei Morocco on the sidelines of GITEX Africa 2025 in Marrakech.

The strategic collaboration aims to modernize the higher education sector, enhance national digital capabilities, and empower Moroccan youth with essential tech skills. It also seeks to position the digital sector as a key driver of inclusion, competitiveness, and regional cooperation.

The agreement was signed in the presence of Minister of Higher Education Azzedine El Midaoui and CEO of Huawei Morocco David Li. Shen Li, President of Huawei Northern Africa, also attended the ceremony alongside other dignitaries.

Huawei highlighted the partnership as a model of successful public-private collaboration, focused on innovation and national development. “This partnership reflects a shared commitment to preparing Moroccan youth for a digital future,” the company said in a press release.

Under the agreement, university professors will receive targeted training programs and course content will be continuously updated to reflect evolving technologies. The deal also opens avenues for Moroccan researchers and PhD students to collaborate with Huawei’s international research centers, fostering global knowledge exchange.

The initiative aligns with Morocco’s broader vision to harness digital tools for socio-economic growth and education reform in the years ahead.
