Number of Visitors to Jabal Al Akhdar Reaches 203,629 in 2024

Jabal Al Akhdar, The Gulf Observer: The Wilayat of Jabal Al Akhdar in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate welcomed 203,629 visitors in 2024, according to statistics released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI). The figures highlight the region’s continued appeal as a prime tourist destination in the Sultanate of Oman.

The data indicates that 96,856 of these visitors were Omani citizens. Among Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) tourists, Saudi Arabia accounted for the highest number of visitors at 12,007, followed by the United Arab Emirates (1,175), Kuwait (1,083), Qatar (653), and Bahrain (612). Additionally, tourists from other Arab nationalities totaled 7,734, while visitors from foreign nationalities reached 83,509.

Jabal Al Akhdar, renowned for its picturesque landscapes and moderate summer climate, remains a popular destination for both local and international tourists. Its cool winter climate further enhances its attractiveness, alongside the availability of various hotels catering to visitors.

The region is also recognized as a key area for eco-tourism and adventure tourism in Oman.
