Oman and European Union Hold Fifth Round of Political Consultations in Muscat

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The fifth round of political consultations between the Sultanate of Oman and the European Union’s External Action Service was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Muscat, reaffirming both sides’ commitment to deepening bilateral ties and advancing strategic cooperation.
The Omani delegation was led by His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al-Harthy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs. The European delegation was headed by His Excellency Olaf Skoog, Deputy Secretary-General for Political Affairs at the European External Action Service.
During the session, the two sides reviewed the state of Oman-EU relations and discussed mechanisms to enhance cooperation in various fields, particularly through strategic partnerships and economic agreements. The discussions also covered pressing regional and international developments, with both parties exchanging views on issues of mutual concern.
The consultations were attended by Her Excellency Roua bint Issa Al-Zadjali, Oman’s Ambassador to Belgium and Head of its Mission to the European Union, as well as Annette Weber, the European Union’s Special Envoy to the Horn of Africa, alongside a number of officials from both sides.
The meeting highlighted the shared commitment of Oman and the European Union to promoting dialogue, peace, and stability in the region and beyond, and to further consolidating their diplomatic and economic cooperation.
