Oman and Norway Conduct Political Talks to Strengthen Bilateral Relations
Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Norway engaged in a session of political talks on Tuesday, aimed at fostering and strengthening the diplomatic ties between the two nations.
Heading the Omani delegation was Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs. The Norwegian side was led by Andreas Motzfeldt Kravik, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The discussions during the session centered around a comprehensive review of bilateral relations, with both sides expressing their commitment to enhancing cooperation across various domains. The talks reflected the mutual eagerness to collaborate on shared interests and capitalize on opportunities for mutual benefit.
The dialogue extended to encompass regional and international affairs of common concern, including a thorough examination of the implications stemming from Israel’s recent military actions in Gaza. The exchange of views on these matters underscored the shared commitment to addressing global challenges and fostering stability in the region.
Among the key attendees were Sheikh Humaid Ali Al Ma’ani, Head of the Global Affairs Department, Munthir Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Head of the Europe Department, and Thomas Lid Ball, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to the Sultanate of Oman. Kjersti Tromsdal, Norway’s special envoy for Yemen, and other officials from both delegations also participated in the constructive session.
The political talks serve as a testament to the ongoing diplomatic dialogue between Oman and Norway, reaffirming their dedication to deepening ties and collaborating on matters of shared importance.
