Muscat, The Gulf Observer: With the participation of 22 tourism companies and hotel establishments, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism continues to organise mobile promotional workshops in Italy and Germany, to promote heritage and tourism components of the Sultanate of Oman,
The first promotional workshops were launched in the Italian city of Milan, then in Rome, after that in Berlin and finally in Munich in the Federal Republic of Germany.
The programme of promotional workshops includes presenting a visual presentation of the latest developments in the tourism sector in the Sultanate of Oman, holding bilateral meetings and joint meetings, and working with representatives of the participating Omani tourism institutions and establishments and their counterparts from the Italian and German tourism sectors.
Meetings were held between the Omani delegation and a number of officials in the tourism sector in the Republic of Italy and 270 tourism institutions participated in the workshops.
The workshops shed light on tourism experiences in the Sultanate of Oman to promote heritage, natural and adventure tourism, and introduce the components and capabilities of the tourism sector in the European market.
These workshops are an opportunity to introduce the tourism components, products, services and experiences that the Sultanate of Oman abounds with. This contributes to tourism promotion and increasing the flow of more tourists from exporting markets.
The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism works to enhance the position of the Sultanate of Oman in foreign tourism markets by participating in the most prominent tourism events and activities held in various countries, whether in exhibitions, workshops, forums or forums related to the tourism aspect.
The number of visitors coming to the Sultanate of Oman witnessed growth, reaching 2.9 million during the period from January to September 2023, an increase of 43.2 percent compared to the same period last year.
Hotels classified as 3-5 stars in the Sultanate of Oman also recorded an increase in their revenues to reach OMR155,670, an increase of 27.6 percent compared to the same period in 2022, while the number of guests in these hotels reached 1.460 guests, an increase of 29.2 percent compared to the same period last year.
