Oman, Iran Discuss Regional Developments, Strait of Hormuz Navigation

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi on Friday to discuss the latest regional developments and efforts to revive dialogue and negotiations.
During the call, the two ministers exchanged views on ways to create conditions conducive to the resumption of dialogue, with the objective of narrowing differences and achieving peaceful solutions to outstanding issues while taking into consideration the interests of all parties.
The ministers also discussed developments related to navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing the importance of continued consultations to reach practical understandings that would facilitate the restoration of freedom of navigation and ensure the safe and uninterrupted movement of maritime traffic.
They underscored the importance of safeguarding the security of the strategic waterway and promoting stability and de-escalation across the region.
The discussions reaffirmed Oman’s continued diplomatic efforts to encourage dialogue and peaceful engagement on regional issues and support measures aimed at enhancing maritime security and stability.
