Doha, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion at the International Horticultural Expo 2023 in Doha, Qatar, has been honored with the prestigious “Best Content Award for Pavilions.” The recognition underscores the pavilion’s dedication to adhering to the specified themes and standards outlined for the expo, particularly focusing on the topic of “Green Desert, Better Environment.”

Khalid Salim Al Zuhaimi, Commissioner-General of the Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion at Expo 2023, expressed gratitude for the award, highlighting its significance in acknowledging the pavilion’s commitment to promoting sustainability, environmental awareness, technology, innovation, and modern farming practices.

Al Zuhaimi elaborated on the key features of the Omani pavilion, which showcased a rich tapestry of themes centered around environmental preservation and agricultural innovation. Notably, the pavilion boasted a diverse array of 1,600 indigenous Omani trees and plants, including 56 species unique to the Omani environment at the regional level. These botanical specimens were meticulously curated from the Oman Botanic Garden, a flagship project that holds a prominent position on Oman’s tourism map.

The pavilion served as a platform to showcase Oman’s efforts in preserving its natural heritage and fostering sustainable agricultural practices.
