Oman Ranks 74th on Global Innovation Index 2024

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman has secured the 74th position on the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2024, out of 133 countries assessed based on seven key indicators, according to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) report.

Oman achieved notable success in the areas of “Human Capital and Research” and “Infrastructure,” with its innovation input rank rising to 59th, a six-place improvement from the previous year. The report highlighted Oman’s strong performance in three sub-indicators, placing the Sultanate among the top 20 countries globally.

Specifically, Oman ranked 12th for “Policy Stability for Doing Business,” 2nd for “Graduates in Science and Engineering,” and 16th for “Electricity Output,” reflecting the country’s growing commitment to fostering a supportive environment for innovation and sustainable development.

The Global Innovation Index evaluates countries’ innovation ecosystems based on factors such as human capital, research, infrastructure, market sophistication, and creative outputs. Oman’s continued progress in these areas demonstrates the Sultanate’s efforts to enhance its global competitiveness and foster a knowledge-based economy.
