Omani Foreign Minister Holds Talks with Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs

Algiers, The Gulf Observer: In a significant diplomatic engagement, Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, the Foreign Minister of Oman, and Ahmed Attaf, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, convened for a session of political talks. The discussions took place within the framework of an official visit made by Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi to Algeria.

The two ministers underscored the importance of collaborative efforts to advance mutual interests and strengthen the longstanding ties between Oman and Algeria. They deliberated on strategies for coordination in preparation for the upcoming session of the Omani-Algerian Joint Committee, scheduled to take place later this year in Algeria.

During the talks, both sides exchanged views on regional and international matters of shared concern, emphasizing the imperative of enhancing bilateral cooperation to address prevailing challenges effectively.

In a unified stance, the ministers expressed solidarity with ongoing efforts to de-escalate tensions and achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. They highlighted the urgent need to halt all acts of violence to prevent further civilian casualties and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to the population in Gaza. Additionally, they emphasized the importance of creating conducive conditions for the return of displaced Palestinians to their homes and advocated for the release of detainees and prisoners.

Furthermore, the ministers reaffirmed their commitment to upholding international law and urged the international community to fulfill its responsibilities by recognizing the State of Palestine. They called for concerted efforts to convene an international peace conference in alignment with the aspirations of the international community. Emphasizing the Two-State Solution, they reiterated the imperative of ending the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories for sustainable peace and stability in the region.

The political talks between the Omani and Algerian foreign ministers underscored their shared commitment to promoting peace, stability, and prosperity, both regionally and internationally.
