Philippine Envoy Reaffirms Strong Ties with Morocco at Throne Day Reception in Islamabad
Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Philippine Ambassador to Pakistan H.E. Dr. Emmanuel R. Fernandez attended a reception marking the Throne Day of the Kingdom of Morocco at the Islamabad Serena Hotel, reaffirming the Philippines’ commitment to further strengthening its longstanding friendship and cooperation with Morocco.
The reception was hosted by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Pakistan, H.E. Mohammed Karmoune, and was attended by Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik as the chief guest. The event brought together senior officials of the Government of Pakistan, members of the diplomatic corps, business leaders, and other distinguished guests.
Observed annually on July 30, Throne Day is Morocco’s principal national celebration, commemorating the accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the throne in 1999.
During the event, Ambassador Fernandez extended his warm congratulations to Ambassador Karmoune and, through him, conveyed best wishes to King Mohammed VI and the people of Morocco on the occasion of Throne Day.
The Philippine envoy reaffirmed his country’s commitment to further enhancing its cordial and longstanding relations with Morocco, noting that bilateral ties have continued to expand steadily since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1975.
Ambassador Fernandez said the Philippines and Morocco enjoy warm and friendly relations founded on mutual respect, shared interests, and a common commitment to peace, sustainable development, and international cooperation.
He noted that the two countries continue to collaborate closely in multilateral forums while seeking to broaden cooperation in key sectors, including trade and investment, labor and migration, education, culture, tourism, agriculture, and renewable energy.
Expressing optimism about the future of bilateral relations, Ambassador Fernandez said the enduring friendship between the Philippines and Morocco would continue to flourish, bringing mutual benefits to both nations and their peoples.
