Prabowo Highlights Eid al-Adha 1446H as a Moment to Strengthen Sincerity, Sacrifice and National Unity

Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: President Prabowo Subianto has emphasized that Eid al-Adha 1446 Hijriah serves as a moment to reflect on the values of sincerity, faithfulness, and sacrifice for the greater good of the nation.
“Eid al-Adha is a time that teaches us about sincerity, faithfulness, and sacrifice for the greater good,” President Prabowo conveyed in a message shared via his official Instagram account (@presidenrepublikindonesia) on Friday.
In his message, the President cited the story of Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Ismail as a profound reminder to prioritize the interests of the people and the nation above personal considerations. He expressed hope that the spirit of Eid al-Adha could become a unifying force to foster solidarity and serve as a foundation for building Indonesia with a spirit of devotion and unity.
President Prabowo concluded his message by extending Eid al-Adha greetings to the Indonesian people, marking the sacred occasion with a call for reflection and collective purpose.
The Head of State joined thousands of worshippers in performing the Eid al-Adha prayer at the Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta on Friday morning, alongside several state officials and ministers from the Red and White Cabinet.
Notable figures in attendance included People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Speaker Ahmad Muzani; Regional Representative Council (DPD) Speaker Sultan Bachtiar Najamudin; Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian; Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) M. Herindra; and Head of the Maritime Security Agency (Bakamla) Vice Admiral Irvansyah.
Also present were Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono; Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita; Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) General Agus Subiyanto; Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy Admiral Muhammad Ali; Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo; and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, who was seated next to the President during the prayer.
Eid al-Adha, one of the two major Islamic holidays, is observed on the 10th day of Zulhijah in the Islamic lunar calendar. This year, Eid al-Adha 1446 Hijriah fell on Friday, June 6, 2025. The festival commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah SWT, and is marked by special prayers and the ritual slaughter of sacrificial animals, such as cows and goats, by those who are financially able.
Beyond its religious significance, Eid al-Adha is widely regarded as a time for spiritual reflection, community solidarity, and charitable giving, reinforcing the values of obedience, compassion, and social responsibility within Muslim communities across the world.
