President Berdimuhamedov Receives Turkish Vice President for Key Economic Cooperation Talks

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan received Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz in Ashgabat during the latter’s visit to participate in the 9th meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Turkish Commission on Economic Cooperation (HEK), according to the Watan Habarlary news program.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the current state of bilateral relations and explored opportunities for expanding cooperation across a range of strategic sectors.
Following the talks, Vice President Yılmaz said discussions focused on further strengthening Turkmen-Turkish relations and identifying promising areas for future collaboration. Particular attention was given to cooperation in energy, transport, trade, education, science and technology, as well as cultural and humanitarian fields.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening their partnership on the basis of mutual benefit and shared interests.
Yılmaz underscored the importance of advancing relations between Türkiye and Turkmenistan amid growing global uncertainties, noting that stronger cooperation between the two countries contributes to the unity, solidarity and development of the wider Turkic world.
The discussions also highlighted the importance both countries place on international cooperation aimed at introducing advanced technologies and supporting the continued modernization of their economies. Given the significant economic potential of Turkmenistan and Türkiye, the parties stressed the need to elevate bilateral cooperation to a new qualitative level.
The two sides further emphasized the important role played by the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Turkish Commission on Economic Cooperation, the Business Council, and bilateral trade exhibitions in promoting stronger economic ties and fostering closer partnership relations.
The meeting reflected the shared determination of Turkmenistan and Türkiye to expand economic cooperation, encourage innovation, and strengthen long-term strategic ties across multiple sectors of mutual interest.
