President Ilham Aliyev Attends Opening of Antalya Diplomacy Forum

Antalya, The Gulf Observer: The 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum officially opened on April 17 in the Turkish city of Antalya, bringing together world leaders, policymakers, and international stakeholders to address pressing global challenges.
The opening ceremony was attended by Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva. The event commenced with remarks by Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye.
President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered the keynote address, highlighting key regional and international developments. He underscored that the ongoing normalization process between Türkiye and Armenia is being carried out in close coordination with Azerbaijan.
President Erdoğan also emphasized the growing role of the Organization of Turkic States, noting that Türkiye will assume the chairmanship during the upcoming 13th Summit of the Turkic World later this year. He expressed confidence that the organization’s international influence and engagement would continue to expand.
Referring to regional connectivity initiatives, the Turkish President reiterated strong support for the East-West Middle Corridor, describing it as a reliable trade route linking Asia and Europe via the Caspian Sea.
Held under the theme “Mapping Tomorrow, Managing Uncertainties,” the forum reflects the increasing complexity of the global environment marked by geopolitical tensions, shifting power dynamics, and pressures on multilateralism. The theme highlights the importance of anticipating emerging risks and opportunities while developing effective strategies to navigate global uncertainties.
This year’s forum has attracted more than 500 high-level participants, including 22 heads of state and government, 14 deputy heads, and over 50 ministers—among them 39 foreign ministers—from more than 150 countries. Additionally, 75 representatives from international organizations are taking part in the discussions.
The forum will feature over 40 events and sessions, including high-level panel discussions, aimed at fostering dialogue, strengthening cooperation, and shaping solutions to global challenges.
