Baku, The Gulf Observer: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, accompanied by First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and their daughter Leyla Aliyeva, visited the 19th Azerbaijan International Agricultural Exhibition and Forum – Caspian Agro Week – and the 31st Azerbaijan International Food Industry Exhibition – InterFood Azerbaijan at the Baku Expo Center on Tuesday.

Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov briefed the delegation on the масштаб and significance of the exhibitions, noting that participation has expanded to 447 companies from 45 countries this year. For the first time, Brazil, Ethiopia, and Northern Cyprus are represented with national pavilions, alongside established participants including Germany, Belarus, South Korea, Georgia, Italy, Indonesia, and the Netherlands.

The Caspian Agro Week exhibition showcases a broad spectrum of sectors, including agricultural machinery, irrigation systems, logistics, livestock, crop production, and veterinary services, along with innovative “Smart Agro” solutions such as artificial intelligence, robotics, drones, and green technologies. Meanwhile, InterFood Azerbaijan highlights developments in food production, beverages, agricultural produce, and food technologies.

A key development this year is the rebranding of the traditional “Caspian Agro” exhibition into the broader “Caspian Agro Week” concept, incorporating conferences, forums, and field visits to innovative farms.

During the visit, President Aliyev and the First Lady toured multiple stands representing leading local and international companies. Among them were Azersun Holding, recognized for its “farm-to-table” production model, and Agro Dairy, known for its integrated agro-industrial ecosystem. They also viewed exhibits by global manufacturers such as Holmer, New Holland, and PhosAgro.

The exhibitions feature strong participation from local enterprises, including Azera Holding, Favo Agro, and Amofresh, alongside international firms such as Industrias David and AFI Projects.

The Ministry of Agriculture also presented its own stand, highlighting state support initiatives, digital agriculture projects, artificial intelligence applications, and investment opportunities in liberated territories. The exhibitions are further supported by national and international organizations, including the Food and Agriculture Organization.

This year’s events provide a platform for over 500 farmers from 51 regions of Azerbaijan to explore the latest agricultural innovations and global best practices. National pavilions from countries such as Brazil, Italy, the Netherlands, Belarus, and Indonesia demonstrate growing international interest in Azerbaijan’s agri-food sector.

Caspian Agro Week and InterFood Azerbaijan continue to serve as major regional platforms for fostering international cooperation, promoting innovation, and strengthening business ties in the agricultural and food industries. Over the years, both exhibitions have established themselves as prominent events on the global exhibition calendar, contributing significantly to the development of Azerbaijan’s agricultural sector and export potential.
