Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation on May 31 with the Chairman of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, Mufti Sheikh Nuriddin Holiqnazar, to discuss the ongoing Hajj pilgrimage of Uzbek citizens in the holy city of Makkah.
During the call, the President inquired about the conditions provided for Uzbek pilgrims, expressing particular interest in their health, spiritual well-being, and the overall organization of the pilgrimage.
Mufti Holiqnazar reported that all necessary organizational measures had been successfully implemented to ensure that the pilgrims can properly perform the Hajj rituals. He noted that all 15,000 Uzbek pilgrims have safely arrived in Saudi Arabia, accompanied by a support team comprising over 300 group leaders, 50 highly qualified doctors, more than 10 chefs, and other essential specialists.
Notably, this year, at the request of the Uzbek side, enclosed tents equipped with thermal insulation panels, cooling systems, carpets, and bedding were installed in the Arafat Valley, significantly improving comfort levels for pilgrims enduring the summer heat.
The Mufti emphasized that preparations for this year’s Hajj were conducted at an exceptionally high level, ensuring comprehensive support for all pilgrims. He also conveyed the greetings and prayers of gratitude from Uzbek pilgrims at the holy sites, who are earnestly praying for peace, prosperity, and well-being for their homeland and fellow citizens.
President Mirziyoyev expressed his heartfelt greetings to the pilgrims, wished them a safe and blessed pilgrimage, and prayed for their safe return home. He voiced hope that upon their return, these respected individuals would serve as exemplars of moral leadership in their mahallas, contribute to social harmony, support the needy, and play an active role in guiding and inspiring the youth.
The conversation was marked by a warm and sincere atmosphere, reflecting the shared spiritual values and deep respect for the sacred traditions of the Uzbek people.
